'biddies' introduced into chicago lingo by yours truly.

i thought i might keep you updated while i'm in chicago. the city is gorgeous in summer, and the neighborhood my friend lives in is green, shady and quiet.

after my i was done working for the day i met up with laura, melissa and jamie and we walked to a park where laura and melissa play in their kickball league! (i'm not into group sports, but that sounds like something that minneapolis is lacking)
we ended up at carol's bar after the game...the country western dive bar that sponsors the teams. i'm not exaggerating when i say this place makes lyle's look like the ritz. laura ended up hitting it off with one of her teammates and i left her at the bar. this morning she had to wear a scarf to work due to the extreme hickies on her neck. who gives hickies anymore?

today there will be a picnic on the beach and possibly some shopping...

the best laid plans...

yes, its true, they often go awry - but, not two weekends in a row.

i propose a trip to the sea salt eatery this saturday that involves some sunning in the park, as well. this is to be followed by a brief respite and dancing/revelry at too much love or the like. if you are going to rock the garden, you are exempted from the first half. if you are on a business trip to chicago, you are exempted from it all. also, a contingent will be tubing on sunday with a friend from out of town; all are invited.

in defense of this weekend past, i have to say it was pretty amazing. the red stag block party was a riot (esp. holding the tent down while everyone else ran for cover and everything else blew away). a couple of us made it to too much love and danced our asses off and i had a pretty epic late night bike ride fueled by caffeine and indecision.

just a friendly reminder to everyone about the city girl yardsale on june 29th at 4:00.  i know some of you are busy, but the rest of you should bring friends and plan on a little shindig.

i'm pretty sure that the first order of business is going somewhere terribly public, straddling our bikes in a line and singing along with queen (plus boombox) at the top of our lungs.
